5 Marketing Resolutions You Should Not Break In 2016

We all may have made the new year resolutions and many of us may have most probably broken them as well. In this SEO tutorial, however, we would like to us how many of you have made a resolution for your marketing strategy? If you have not made any, its never too late to make some new ones. After all being successful in your business is more important and so we give you some new year resolutions for marketing, which you should abide. Read on to find out 5 marketing resolutions.

1. Get your data in shape

Big data is all the rage, but do you know what to do with it all? In 2015, only 14% of marketers were confident in their organization's use of big data, and that number is a 25 point drop from the year before. Now is the time to evaluate data vendors, manage internal data warehouses and re-establish your KPIs to make sure you are measuring the right things. Figure out what data you need and what's just detracting from the story.

2. Give back to your customers

You want to generate traffic to your website. That's a given. But it's not enough to drive traffic, you need to provide value to visitors when they find you. One way to achieve this is to really understand the visitors to your site, how they act both on your site and off. In 2015, 67% of marketers used behavioral data in their marketing and 69% of them expect their use of it to grow in the next 3 years.

3. Get organized

Forget Excel, you need better more visual ways to track and report what you do internally or to clients. Look for tools with great visual data capabilities to help you present a cleaner look to reflect all the great things you are doing.

4. Spend more time with your competitors

Don't literally spend more time with them, spend more time getting to know their tactics and strategy. Measuring your performance based on traffic and engagement on your site is important, but it's hard to know if this is truly good or bad unless you can put it in the context of your industry or competitive set.

5. Learn at least one new thing

Most of us just don't make the time to learn new things outside of our day-to-day jobs. But we all have areas that could make a huge impact on our marketing success if we just spent the time to learn about it. Maybe there are new traffic acquisition tactics you want to pursue or you want to dig into insights about who your shoppers are to write better messaging. Don't put it off this year, there is no excuse not to do it in 2016!
