1. Informative URLs/User Readable URLs
If you want users to click on your URLs, you must use informative and user readable URLs so that people can trust on your link.
2. Short but descriptive URLs
Don't go for long URLs, keep your URL short but descriptive. It's good for providing better user experience.
3. Keywords in URL
When you share URL on social media or any other sites, people can view the URL when they hover on anchor text. If your URLs contain targeted keywords, visitor's interest will increase to click that link.

You can keep as many sub folders as you want. But, if you keep fewer sub folders than it's more better.
10. Use hyphen or underscore as word separator
A couple of years back, underscore was considered as word separator. But now you can use both hyphen and underscore as word separators.
