Sanjay Dutt's First Interview After Walking Free From Jail
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, who walked out as a free man from prison today, told columnists that it was the most amazing feeling to be 'free following 23 years'.
Munnabhai actor, who has had a bustling day since morning, said he was feeling the loss of his dad and late performer Sunil Dutt the most on this day of complete freedom. Sanjay Dutt, who was wearing white kurta, pants with tilak on his temple, said he was cheerful to be free in the wake of 23 prolonged years.
"To be free is the most amazing feeling. For a long time I have been sitting tight for this minute… for freedom. I did everything (took after the law). It's a feeling that will take a while to sink in. I miss my dad today," said a smiling Sanjay Dutt.
"I miss my dad (Sunil Dutt) today. I wish he was alive to see this day… on the off chance that he would have been (alive), he would have been the happiest person," he said.
Putting behind the torrid times since his conviction in the 1993 Mumbai impacts case, Sanjay Dutt today walked out a free man from the Yerawada Central prison here in the wake of being conceded reduction in his five-year sentence.
On being inquired as to why did he salute the tri-shading atop the Yerwada prison building and bent to touch the soil promptly in the wake of venturing out, he said: "I am proud to be an Indian, that is the reason I kissed the ground and saluted the tricolor when I turned out."
Discussing his wife Maanyata, he said she has endured the most and called her is 'best half.'
"At whatever point I was getting feeble, she was my pillar of strength. I think she endured more than me as she needed to care for two children, bring them up, take decisions," said Sanjay Dutt.
"She is not my better half, but rather my best half. Manyata is my strength," said Sanjay Dutt as he held his wife's hand who remained behind him amid the press conference.
At the point when gotten some information about his earnings in prison, Dutt said in a lighter vein, "Similar to a decent spouse I gave all the cash to my wife."
He said now he might want to spend quality time with his family and precious ones. "I might want to spend time with my family and children now."
On his arrival from Pune, Sanjay Dutt offered prayers at Siddhivinayak and later visited his mom Nargis' grave.
